meeting at every gym at 8:00 am with your site tournament director.

Lake VBC
16's dropped out of the tournament.
We have revised the U18's Division to make the 6 teams at Tillicum MS a
5-team pool. It also affects the second round as well as playoffs.

Seeding and tie-breaking procedures
Seeding
for the tournament was done based on tournament results and
placing in at Puget Sound Region events and Columbia Empire Power
league (using Final Standings). In most divisions, in order
to simplify the tournament your progressive placing
throughout the tournament
will be based upon your seed and your finish within your
pool;
not on how your performance in pool compares to other teams in
other pools. This will make it simpler for coaches, fans,
players, etc. to figure out exactly where they play next without having to wait for other pools to finish in order to
place themselves within the next pool or playoff bracket.
There will
be no playoff sets to settle ties. Tie-breaking procedures
will be as follows:

PUGET
SOUND REGION RULES FOR TOURNAMENTS
Puget Sound Region does use the
LIBERO SERVE RULE, teams from outside the region
should be aware that this rule will be in effect this
weekend.
Canadian Teams,
please be aware of the following USAV rules:
-
Play off ceiling is legal
-
Teams are allotted 12
total subs per set
-
Teams are assigned
officiating duties throughout the tournament and must supply R1, R2,
Scorekeeping crew, and lines people
-
Liberos are permitted to
serve
U14 teams should be
aware that because you are playing in a "U15" tournament, you are
subject to rules that pertain to the 15 and older age group.
Primary rule differences are:
-
Serving: No-re-toss is
permitted. A toss and drop will result in a Sideout.
Servers are given 8 seconds to serve instead of 5 seconds with a
re-toss
-
Protest procedure: Coach
cannot file, it must be the team captain
U12 teams should be
aware that because you are playing in a "U13" tournament, you are
subject to rules that pertain to the 13 and older age group.
Primary rule differences are:
-
Ball: You will be playing
with a regulation volleyball, not a "volley-lite"
-
Net Height: Net height
will be 7' 4-1/8" instead of 7' 0"
-
Concession: for the
purpose of this competition only, U12's will be permitted to step-in
one step when serving.
Out of town teams are also alerted
that the Puget Sound Region has very specific rules
regarding teams and tournaments. All of these rules will be
in effect this weekend including (paraphrased):
-
No Crock pots, plug-in appliances or outdoor barbecues
are allowed at any of the sites.
-
Pets are not allowed inside any of
the gyms.
-
Non-playing siblings and children
must be attended at all times.
Please be advised that breaking any of
these rules can result in forfeiture of points or your
team's removal from the tournament. Additionally,
participants should be aware that at Northshore School
District has a strict policy regarding their Junior High
School Gyms (Kenmore, Canyon Park, and Skyview Junior High
Schools)
No food or drink of any kind is allowed in the gym
-- including water bottles. This is a DISTRICT RULE FOR ALL
JUNIOR HIGHS IN THE DISTRICT. It may only be amended
by the on-site custodian. The tournament director will
confer with the custodian and make a determination at each
site. |
