TOURNAMENT HANDBOOK

Directions between playing sites (print me) -- You might find this useful for U12-U16's

Seeding and tie-breaking procedures

Seeding for the tournament was done based on tournament results and placing in at Puget Sound Region events and Columbia Empire Power league (using February Standings).  In most divisions, in order to simplify the tournament your progressive placing throughout the tournament will be based upon your seed and your finish within your pool; not on how your performance in pool compares to other teams in other pools.  This will make it simpler for coaches, fans, players, etc. to figure out exactly where they play next without having to wait for other pools to finish in order to place themselves within the next pool or playoff bracket.

There will be no playoff sets to settle ties.  Tie-breaking procedures will be as follows:

  • Two-way tie (by match record):               1) Head to head MATCH

  •  Three-way tie (by match record):            1) Set Record (sets won vs. sets lost win %)

                                                   2) Overall positive points among the tied teams

                                                   3) If still tied, Overall positive points in the pool

NOTE: For three-way ties, this formula will be used to seed the teams 1, 2, 3.

PUGET SOUND REGION RULES FOR TOURNAMENTS

Puget Sound Region does use the LIBERO SERVE RULE, teams from outside the region should be aware that this rule will be in effect this weekend.

Out of town teams are also alerted that the Puget Sound Region has very specific rules regarding teams and tournaments.  All of these rules will be in effect this weekend including (paraphrased):

  • No Crock pots or outdoor barbecues are allowed at any of the sites.

  • Pets are not allowed inside any of the gyms.

  • Non-playing siblings and children must be attended at all times.

Please be advised that breaking any of these rules can result in forfeiture of points or your team's removal from the tournament.  Additionally, participants should be aware that at Kenmore & Skyview Junior High Schools, no food or drink of any kind is allowed in the gym -- including water bottles.  This is a DISTRICT RULE FOR ALL JUNIOR HIGHS IN THE DISTRICT.

All teams must have a coach at the coaches meeting.  Coaches meeting will be at 8:00 AM Saturday at your site.  Please bring your current roster with USAV numbers to the coaches meeting
