2010 JUNIOR BEACH SERIES
EVENT #1
TEAMS | RECAP |

STANDINGS
We
have had some great summers and we are looking forward to some
great participation numbers and superior competition in 2010. Participation numbers were
at an all-time high in 2009 with over 200 individuals scoring
points in the Series Standings, and as a result, we have added
some dates and some unique events -- including more fours and
parent-child doubles divisions. This summer
we expect many of the same faces and some new ones to come
and crown the NW JUNIOR BEACH DOUBLES CHAMPIONS.
We
expect to have a good selection of Sand Socks.
We will also have on-hand the Spalding King of the
Beach volleyball for $45.00 -- the KOB is
the official volleyball of the
USA Jr. Beach Volleyball Series -- check with the tournament
director if you are interested. Also, remember to
patronize Christo's on Alki, our official
restaurant down there on the beach -- they give a 20% discount
to participants and their families.
Here
is a list of the teams, if your team is not listed, we did not
receive your entry. We will NOT be taking walk-up registrations
-- we highly encourage
pre-registration.
If you do not make it in this time, we encourage you to register
now for our June 13th PNW AAU Championship event on June 13th.
Well, we did it, we had the biggest tournament on Alki Beach
(possibly ever!). Way to go Juniors. It was a lot of
work setting up 17 Nets, but for the 85 teams that played in our
Series Opener, it was well worth it. Enduring early rain,
all divisions were extremely competitive. It is clearly
apparent that the years we have hosted beach events for juniors
has led to improved play. I was mostly impressed with the
skill level at the U14 division. The future of beach
volleyball here in the Northwest is definitely in good hands.
We are looking forward so seeing some of
these same great teams throughout the summer.
